What is Self Defence?
Self defence is concerned with learning to protect yourself and your loved ones in wide variety of threatening situations. Self defence is not often concerned with adherence to any style or tradition and often uses techniques from different martial arts to accomplish its aim.

In Practice
Any good self defence course would be both comprehensive in covering all types of scenarios; defences against armed and unarmed attacks, defences against multiple attackers, escapes from various holds and grabs, dealing with armed hold-ups, sexual assault and more. Training should be as realistic as possible without being harmful or dangerous, often requiring the use of protective gear.
